About This Flute


Technically this is a Solid Sterling Silver Open Hole Conservatory level Flute pitched in the key of C.  It has an Inline G and a B Foot.  All three parts are Solid Silver.  The Serial Number is 304335x.  It had been installed and adjusted brand new high quality Precision Pads.   It had been hand Cleaned (no Chemicals) and lubricated the Flute.  The Yamaha 400 series Flutes are known for their clearer tone and even range between registers. The joint had been adjusted  so the Flute fits together without play.   It had been play tested until in consistently plays to the high Standard performance for an Open Hole Flute of this quality.  Condition wise, there is some surface scratching from normal wiping down after playing with a Cleaning Cloth.  There are some other slight scratching here and there, but nothing big enough to photograph very well.  There is also a slight scratch on the Lip Plate.  This Flute does have evidence of Dent Repair.  It took a pretty good hit and was dented pretty badly in the body by the Thumb Key.  I think something must have fallen on it.  It has been repaired and you can't see the evidence of this by looking down the barrel, but you can see this evidence of dent repair by looking around the thumb key.  Please look carefully at the pictures.  I tried to photograph it, but I am not sure they show up so well.  I want to be perfectly honest by disclosing this cosmetic defect.  It doesn't affect how the Flute plays.     This Flute would also be a good choice for someone who wants to get back into paying the Flute after a long period of no play and wants to get into it again with a much more advanced Flute, but doesn't want to pay full price for this very sought after make and model.  The Flute comes with a Yamaha Hard Case, but it is not the original case, and a cleaning rod.
